THIS IS A BRIEF GUIDE ON HOW TO PLAY

Perhaps the easiest way to understand the game is to make the illustrated stack, starting with the words STACK/TACK.

Make sure that the correct coloured letters are visible as seen.

Here are two videos followed by some details!

This could be the first word played in the game (words must have at least 3 letters) :

START

The word START scores one point per letter, but duplicate words don't score twice:

Score is 5 points

However, because the cubes have letters on only 2 sides you can twist the last T cube forwards to show two words :
STAR and START

STAR/T

Score is now 5+4 = 9 points

This simple twisting move can only be done with horizontal (across) words !!.
It forms the basis of 'Inwords', a simple game which helps teach younger children that there are words within words.
Please e-mail if you would like more information

In a 'Stewart' move (named after the person who first showed it), three words can be formed in one line of cubes:

OVA/T/ION

Score is 7+3+3=13

The next player must join their word to one already present

If a 'multi-word' is placed at the end of one already played then many new words can be made.

Suppose we had the word RISE and the next player had a 'double-word' to join on to that.

RISE

Below, we can see that 3 new words are made in one play: RISEN, FIN and FIND :

RISEN ...

Each new word scores, so they would get 5 + 3 + 4 = 12 points

The word RISE could have been placed vertically from the start, being read downwards !

The next player could then play the word FIN above the playing surface by using support blocks
(letter blocks with their letters hidden from view):

Note that the words are read along a straight line of cubes !

vertical

By placing one vertical line of cubes, the next player could then make two new words : EDIT and FIND (score = 8):

vertical and across above table

Apart from the first word played, words do not have to touch the playing surface.

See the word CASH in the next picture :

verticall downacross above table

As you can see, you can form words 'across' and 'down' on the playing surface (as in a traditional crossword) and also vertically downwards and 'across' and 'down' above the playing surface
